another stunning collaboration by underground figurehead M.F. Doom. this time around DJ Danger Mouse, who got his name in the game through his (not too enjoyable but freakish) amusing remix of the black album by Jay-Z with the Beatles' white album, provided the mask with a full inventory of orchestral and moody beats. very unique sampling style, shifting and making collages of different old and unorthodox sampling material into a groovy little soap opera, that ironically blinks with the eye. as expected Doom fits perfectly well over this frisky beats spitting amazing medaphors, funny anectodes and incredible flows. not heavy on the drums but heavy on the concept and fun, this is another stand out album. point noted. |
