The full length Piano Overlord project from Scott Herren is finally in, and they did it up deluxe for you with a limited vinyl run pressed on 150g LPs and housed in a heavy matte gatefold sleeve. If you haven’t been following their single releases (both of which are now out of print), this is another guise for the prolific Herren (Prefuse 73), where he played all instruments (primarily Rhodes, busted Wurlitzer, and drums) for all the songs, and rearranged them in his studio in Spain. We think it’s some of his best work, landing favorably between the Prefuse and Savath & Savalas styles. Bonus features here include the instrumental to Blu Jemz’ Keyboard King remix, and the unreleased alternate take of Diplo’s remix.
