Take The Money And Run Records are back from a short hiatus with this EP by the fabulously titled Joey Yeah Yeah. Discovered in the Lancashire backwaters of Burnley, JYY grew up on the same estate as Tru-Thoughts beat monkey Diesler. It must be something that they put in the water up there because Joey plunders the same bright-eyed, cut up funk as his fellow Burnleyite, and they’ll be bottling that water soon if the tunes on this EP are anything to go by! From the Latin lothario narrating ‘They Call Me The Doctor’ to the sliced blues scat on ‘Taproom Drama’ the dial is firmly set to FUN throughout the four tracks.
