This is the third release of the Numero disco 12" reissue series and it's just as crate-worthy as the previous singles from Lord Rhaburn and Sabata. Mister Jay & Michael Dee's "T.S.O.B." is named after the tiny, now-defunct Brooklyn label that originally released the single back in the early 80s, and which influenced the likes of Mike D and other NYC proto-rappers and producers of the time. As raw, funky and somewhat goofy slabs of disco-rap go, it don't get much better than this. Witness the mega cowbell assault and the Sugar Hill flow on lines. |
