2nd release from Ill Boogs, one of the UK’s top b-boys (breakdancers). He was one of the founding members of the Floor Science Crew and he went on to become a key member of the legendary Born To Rock and Sinstars Crews. Side A: King Conga As the title of the track suggests, this is a percussion driven tune, somewhere between a soul shaker and a soundtrack chase track. Heavy drums as you would expect from Ill Boogs with a driving bassline underpinning the groove. King Conga is punctuated with a simple funky horn riff and topped off with a live flute solo which brings the track to a climax Side B: Funky Ghost Town This is a straight up B-Boy tune. Made by a b-boy for b-boys. Funky but chilled out with a dirty, deep down sound which reminds us of the African funk movement of the 70’s. |
