Content continues their 7" inch series with Olde Soul and Double K, as they take listeners on a journey set to well-crafted, sample-based beats.
The mission begins with producer Olde Soul, setting the pace with “Taking Me Places,” a tale about weaving through L.A. nights. Blak King narrates the tale over hard drums and filtered bass, steered by vibes. This side of the journey ends with “Along the Way.”
Los Angeles legend Double K (People Under the Stairs) detours with the melodic, funk tinged “Face to Face.” An extra treat concludes this project in the form of a “Bonus Beat.”
• Double K along with Thes One (People Under the Stairs) recently signed a deal with Gold Dust Media (Zion I, Brooklyn Academy, Large Professor…) to release their 6th studio album, Fun DMC.
• Besides various projects, Pomona lyrist Blak King (Project Blowed/Inland Empire) is presently completing his debut, due mid-09.
• Canadian Magazine Cannabis Culture recently featured “Taking Me Places” as part of their monthly compilation series.
• Collectively, both beat-makers are presently producing material for the second Brothaload album entitled "Grip it!" The project features appearances by MURS, Time Machine, Pharcyde, Sach, Count Bass D, plus more. |
