After having their previous two 12”s spun on high profile radio shows by the likes of Annie Mac (BBC Radio One), Sinden (Kiss FM) and Kissy Sell Out (BBC Radio One), remixed by legends such as Farley “Jackmaster” Funk and DJ Technics and featured on huge Fabriclive, Modular and Mixmag compilations (not to mention receiving praise from blogs and magazines of note all around the world) Juiceboxxx and Dre Skull are back with the final chapter in their mysterious disco trilogy, a transcendent anthem by the name of "Hype".
"Hype" is a timeless slice of electronic energy music bookended by bursts of new age synth ecstasy. Not since the days of the KLF has a duo been able to combine stadium level hip house with 3AM ambient house so convincingly. Forget boring retro or tedious minimal, Juiceboxxx and Dre Skull play by their own rules. As the track progresses, they take you out of the stadium and into the warehouse, ending the trilogy on a jacking new age tip that is at once unnerving and tearjearking. There truly is no beginning and no end.
On the remix tip, London big dawg Sinden checks in with a gigantic slice of bumpin UK bass that is sure to get spins at superclubs and festivals worldwide. Dre Skull's remix is a hypnotic jack-a-thon that sounds like house music lost in a neverending prism of magic. Note: this sentence was written before Dre Skull started his remix. With that said, it is truly a big room tropical house monster.
