After the success of their first 45, "You'd Better Stop" (which sold out just a month after being released), and their first European tour (backing legendary soul icon Barbara Lynn), here comes the Excitements' second single. Their debut took the world by surprise and it's likely that this new release will achieve similar immediate results. Recorded over the same session and also produced by Mike Mariconda, these two astonishing numbers offer a taste of their soon-to-be-released first album. Expect the best from the flip side: a tremendous rendition of Pearl Woods' "Right Now". Is this funk, soul or old school R&B? It's a bit of all three, but who cares when the tracks are this good. On both sides the female vocal soars beautifully above heavy pounding drums and horns! Dancefloor shakers on both sides for sure! |
