After a mesmerising performance of her debut single ‘Workin’ Woman Blues’ on BBC’s ‘Later... With Jools Holland’ in November, Valerie June releases the new single from her highly anticipated forthcoming debut album ‘Pushin’ Against A Stone’.
The single ‘You Can’t Be Told’ will be released through Sunday Best and is another insight into her world of beautiful vintage country, gospel and powerful delta blues.
After a number of appearances at UK shows in 2012, including a very special interactive performance at Bestival for The Guardian, Valerie returns to the UK early next year as she will be supporting one of the most exciting breakthrough British singer songwriters of 2012 - Jake Bugg - on his forthcoming tour.
‘You Can’t Be Told’ was written by Valerie with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) and Kevin Augunas (Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Florence & The Machine) and recorded at Dan’s Easy Eye Studio in Nashville along with several other tracks on the album.
‘You Can’t Be Told’ will be released on Rob da Bank’s stellar boutique label Sunday Best, home to David Lynch and Kitty Daisy & Lewis, to name a few. |
