'Kool & The Gangstarr Generation' is DJ Format's carefully crafted tribute to the early work of Kool & The Gang, as sampled by so many classic Hip Hop songs in the late '80s & early '90s. The track is made entirely out of Kool & The Gang records, and Hip Hop records that sampled them. Format doffs his cap to producers like DJ Premier, 45 King & The Bomb Squad, whilst also chopping & reassembling multiple layers of K&TG samples in his own original way.
'Kool Is Back' has less of a Hip Hop influence and is more of a straight funk track aimed at dance floors. Format again chops & reassembles multiple layers of Kool & The Gang records to create something original out of classic records you already know & love.
